Veterans’ Affairs

Mark Allenbaugh is accredited by the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) to represent veterans in claims for VA benefits and proud to serve our disabled veterans and their families. DVA pays various benefits to qualifying veterans, including compensation for service related disabilities and various other benefits, including pensions. Mark Allenbaugh handles these compensation claims on a contingency basis, meaning he does not charge you legal fees if your claim is not successful.

There is no time limit on when a claim can be brought. Congress recognized that, sometimes, an event that occurred in service may take many years to cause a disability.  In these cases, the veteran is entitled to bring a claim no matter how long it has been since he got out of the service.

However it is best to retain an attorney early, if you are able, both because the awarded benefits run from the date of claim and to establish that the disability is service-connected closer in time to actual service.

We know that while each veteran faces a specific set of potential hardships that he or she suffered through, every veteran has earned the right to be treated with dignity and respect for their service to our country. Most claims are denied at first, so do not be discouraged if you had a strong case and filed your own paperwork.
